This week's topic is advancement. It's something I've been thinking about a lot, how we start, stumble, fall, get up, and keep going - with the learned knowledge to be wary of stumbling next time.
Learning, and seeing one's growth, is an incredibly fascinating thing, and one that will come all throughout our lives!
Since the beginning, I've found:
1. Advertising is key.
How do you want to be seen? You need to have a general grasp of how OTHER people perceive your brand/business/GOAL. You want to express your love and knowledge on the subject, and a good way to do that is by compounding your knowledge into small formats, i.e. business cards and leaflets.
I've only just finished up making a leaflet on an Adobe trial I'm utilizing, and one of the most challenging parts is summarising your passion into an 8 x 12" piece of paper.
Now, the software you use to create these things will HELP you immensely. I've tried some various online easy-editors, and some more professionally well-known types, and many come with templates which keep you on the right track for making not only simple but EFFECTIVE advertisements.

2. Start small.
Every effort counts. Every effort counts. Every effort counts...
This is my mantra. Ironically, upon typing this, my browser decided to stop working and I lost this subsection. To look at this one way, those efforts did not count. However, they gave me a basis to formulate this and to keep going. I remain with every effort counts!
As I mentioned in my previous blog post: Writing Stories & Making Art, there are times where pushing yourself and your goals to limitless possibilities are good.
There is also another way.
Small, ickly-bickle, baby steps.
Nice and easy there, soldier.
Sometimes, in reminding yourself you don't need to be saving the world today, you can relax a bit and formulate a more effective, productive strategy. See the bigger picture, the long game.
Every effort counts, right? 😎
3. You never stop learning.
Recently I learned it's best to wait before I publish something new. Whether it be the next morning, or a couple days later, I'll check in on a post I've come up with and look over it. For example, I'm hoping to upload some videos with voiceover in which I go over the process of making some of the pieces I make!
I'm learning however it may take a couple takes before I'm able to produce a good quality voice-over, as I'm finding myself essentially eating the mic when recording (the crackles and crumbles haunt me).

What would your advice be? Have you started your own business, and how are you finding that? Or, maybe, you're looking to begin your legacy.
Leave a comment below, let me know what YOU think.
As always, thanks for visiting the studio.
Much love,
